Druella Monroe is a vampire, but she hasn’t been one for long. Ever since her rebirth a year ago, she’s done her best to live a quiet, peaceful life as an art conservator and restorationist at The National Gallery of Art. All she wants is to blend in with the humans.
However that all gets thrown out the window one night while hunting in Great Falls Park, where Druella comes across a naked vampire with no memory of how he got there, or the last century for that matter. All he seems to be sure of is that she is his soulmate…and he won’t leave without her.

So What Did I Think of My Midnight Moonlight Valentine by J. J. McAvoy?

I found this to be a very enjoyable story with a strong storyline and mystery. With unique engaging characters that was nicely developed. I really enjoyed the drama and world building and while the topic dealing with vampires was something I’ve read before it still felt fresh and interesting and the writing was on point.
The story was very plot driven but there were nice spicy and sexy romantic moments between the couple that I enjoyed. The characters and their back story really stole the show for me. They all were so interesting and complex, I wanted to know more and more about them. I was into this story from the beginning. Things started with a bang and developed in a pretty quick pace but balanced out the more I read.
“When I became a vampire, one of the hardest things I had to come to terms with was possibility.”
Loved the richness of the history, traditions and world-building with strong action and high stakes danger that keep the suspense and mystery going. The politics and intrigue were well done and I really enjoyed the mystery between the couple while they tried to figured out what was going on externally as well as developing a romantic relationship at the same time.
The ending threw me for a loop with an epic cliffhanger and overall I really enjoyed reading My Midnight Moonlight Valentine by J. J. McAvoy. Now I’m impatiently waiting for book two to see how everything is going to go down.
