Hazel Camille Bradford knows she’s a lot to take—and frankly, most men aren’t up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd don’t send them running, her lack of filter means she’ll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun.
Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they met—when she gracelessly threw up on his shoes—to when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air.
Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means there’s nothing between them...right?

So What Did I Think of JOSH & HAZEL’S GUIDE TO NOT DATING BY CHRISTINA LAUREN?

O kay I’m gotta be real here, I was side eyeing this story at first cause I didn’t feel the past story Roomie. I had the saying “Lower your expectations” going over and over in my head. Maybe that helped with my enjoyment? I dunno. I went into this story not knowing what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren.
Josh and Hazel had such a fun, cute, down to earth relationship that completely got to me. Even though they were complete opposites they really got each other and it was great watching their relationship develop and grow. What was great was that their relationship began with a friendship which seemed genuine and they really got to get to know each other before the romance really began to happen. The build up, this story was all about the buildup, this was a slow burn love and I enjoyed every moment of it.
I found Hazel wild and quirky personality really refreshing and cool. Even more so from the fact that she excepted herself and didn’t try to change who she was which I thought was so important and made her great. Josh, even with his straight laced personality quickly won me over with how understanding he was towards Hazel. It was great to see how quickly and easily he got her and treated her the way she needed. Seeing how much he really cared out about her and didn’t hide it was everything. They both were so open with their feelings and that led to me easily connecting with them. She embraced her cray cray and found someone who embraced and loved it as well. Cause isn’t that was loves about? Finding some who gets and loves your crazy?
I quickly and easily devoured their hilarious world wind relationship, that had me cracking up on multiple instances. When their romance did develop it was hot and heavy, sizzling then blazing up the pages because their connection was strong and it was clear that they were meant for each other even though they didn’t see it at first. Their issues were understandable and while it blocked them from getting together for some time it made sense with the development of their story and how they resolved it left me satisfied. Yeah, they had a little miscommunication mixed with fear going on there. While not my fave the way it was handled realistically and wasn’t drawn out for forever and a day.
I especially loved the surprised bomb shell at the end and how that all went down, but I won’t spoil it for yah!! Just know it was really juicy and had me like “Oh snap!” How they gonna handle this?!!!
Overall I went into this story iffy but it quickly won me over and I ended up really enjoying Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating.
