Review: Misconduct by Penelope Douglas

Former tennis player Easton Bradbury is trying to be the best teacher she can be, trying to reach her bored students and trying to forget her past. What brought her to this stage in her life isn’t important. She can’t let it be. But now one parent-teacher meeting may be her undoing…
Meeting Tyler Marek for the first time makes it easy for Easton to see why his son is having trouble in school. The man knows how to manage businesses and wealth, not a teenage boy. Or a young teacher, for that matter, though he tries to. And yet…there is something about him that draws Easton in—a hint of vulnerability, a flash of attraction, a spark that might burn.
Wanting him is taboo. Needing him is undeniable. And his long-awaited touch will weaken Easton’s resolve—and reveal what should stay hidden…
So What Did I Think Of Misconduct by Penelope Douglas?
Compelling Story, Exciting & Intense
This was my type of story. From the start it grabbed my attention pulling me into the story and really peaked my curiosity at what would happen next.
A Romance that Blazed
Tyler and Easton romantic relationship was a slow burn that was oh, so good. Their connection was really strong and sexy and with them both having such sharp wit, it made things super exciting. There was a major battle of wills, power play going on between the two. It was great seeing such strong characters feelings develop and grow into a strong connection.
Serious Drama
There was serious drama and I really enjoyed the build up of each issues and how the stakes kept growing and growing even while the feelings they had for each other grew as well. So much juicy conflict was presented. It was great how both Easton and Tyler dealt with their issues. It took a while for them to get what they ultimately wanted and needed but they were smart and really competent characters and got together in a really great way.
Subtle Suspense
There were questions raised as a mystery subtly developed which added another layer to the story. It didn’t really distract from the story but razed my curiosity at what was really going on with the whodunit style. I had a couple of suspicions at the culprit but I was pleasantly surprise at how things went down.
Character Driven
Awesome characters filled with personality, flaws and growth. Making them relatable. endearing and interesting.
Overall I had such a great time reading this story. From the beginning I was pulled into this forbidden love story with and intense drama and characters that was filled with life.
