They've spent their lives pushing each other away, but what will happen when they need each other most?
Anita Martin doesn't expect much from life. Growing up on the street, bouncing from one foster home to another, she learned to rely only on herself. Even after she finally found a loving family to take her in, she was still an outsider-something Abraham, one of the family's older sons, never let her forget.
Abraham Evans doesn't know how Ani always manages to get under his skin, only that's she's been doing it since they were teens. She is-and always has been-undeniably gorgeous. But he's never met anyone as pissed off at the world as Ani.
For fifteen years, Ani and Bram have agreed on exactly one thing: they can't stand each other-until one night when their anger gives way to passion. Yet even as Ani and Bram begin to secretly seek comfort in one another's arms, they remain emotionally worlds apart. When Ani's life takes a dramatic turn and she realizes she needs more than Bram can give, their fragile, no-strings relationship unravels. One way or another, Ani is determined to survive. But when Bram finally admits his true feelings, he may discover Ani has moved on without him . . .
So What Did I Think Of Change of Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn?
Emotional – Intense – Complex Strong Main Characters – Three Dimensional Secondary Characters – Hate to Love – Blazing Romance – Strong Chemistry – Dynamic Relationship – Strong Development – Strong Conflict – Nice Resolution – First Person POV
So it took a minute for me to get into the story which freaked me out a bit because I loved the first book Unbreak My Heart so much but happily after a moment the story started to hold my attention with the strong intense conflicts that Ani and Bram faced. It was clear that Ani and Bram was at a huge impasse regarding huge issue so I was very curious to see how they would resolve things to get their HEA. And boy was it a rough ride for them to find common ground on the issue with both of them being strong in their views but I enjoyed it.
Bram had to come to terms with his issues which were deep seated and took so time for him to really figure things out. He said and did some messed up things along the way but I believed that he would get it together and he did, doing his best to make things right with Ani which made me really like him in the end. Ani had to deal with some really hard realities but she handled things the best she could and did a really great job handling herself with Bram. I was cool with how things worked out for them, it made sense and I could see them both grow as characters.
I really enjoyed the strong family dynamics as well as the writing style, really nice balance of description, action and dialogue. Ani and Bram’s relationship was a hard, intense, complicated journey filled with highs and lows but thats what made the story so enjoyable. Overall I really enjoyed reading Change of Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn.
