So What Did I Think Of Wicked Heart by Leisa Rayven?
This story had me on a wild ride of emotion thats for sure! I liked that this took place within the New York theater world which I found very interesting, as well as the Hollywood limelight with Liam being this mega Hollywood actor and Elissa being a successful stage manager on broadway. I was very interested with both of their careers and how they coincided with each other.
Giving that this is a second chance love story there was definitely backstory with Liam and Elissa. Six years ago Elissa and Liam met and fell in love but things didn’t work out so they separated, only to be reunited now on set of a play that Liam is staring in and Elissa is stage managing. Que in the drama, huge drama because things were left unfinished for them and the feelings were quickly brought to the surface the moment they met again.
When they met again it was clear to see that the emotions they once had for each other was still there and as strong as ever. They both fought their feelings while working all the while their feelings and sexual tension kept growing. At first it wasn’t told why Liam and Elissa broke up but soon there was a flash back that showed what happened which I enjoyed more than just an explanation.
The obstacles they faced were intense and very challenging and I really didn’t have a clue with how things would be resolved. I was shaking my head at the decisions that Liam made though when the reasoning behind them were revealed I understood but it took a while for me to warm up and forgive him cause I thought he could have went about things in a better way.
Now it was clear that they had a strong chemistry but things were very tricky with them not crossing the line of professionalism given that Liam did have a fiancé Angel. Okay, I am not okay with cheating and there was a couple of passionate scenes between Liam and Elissa that was really straddling the line for me. But it turned out all right, I continued on and when the climax happen it left me feeling more comfortable about Elissa and Liam’s relationship and I liked how things took a turn in the story adding to the drama and suspense, it was clever.
The connection was strong and the passion between them was sizzling. Their romance had me seriously conflicted because I could see the connection they had for each other but they had had some serious blocks they needed to deal with. The characters were well developed and compelling. I loved the friendships that was showcased with Elissa and her best friend Josh who definitely brought the humor to the story. I was happy and satisfied with the way things worked out for them all and ended up enjoying reading Wicked Heart by Leisa Rayven.
