The beginning of the emotionally charged and highly erotic contemporary romance Surrender trilogy, in which love and trust are the most dangerous games of all…
With a dark past that would have shattered most people, Evelyn “Scout” Keats is doing what no one in her bleak world thinks possible—getting off the streets and leaving her impoverished life behind. She’s a new maid at the luxurious Patras Hotel and aims to keep her job no matter what. But that doesn’t mean she’s going to sacrifice her dignity, or let anyone into her heart. The risk of losing either is just too great.
When hotel tycoon Lucian Patras discovers Evelyn in a compromising position, he uses everything at his disposal to seduce her—a proposition that both surprises and frightens her.
Ignorant to her true circumstances, Lucian relentlessly pursues Scout as a prize to be won. But he is soon given an unforgettable lesson in love and sacrifice when he learns how far Scout has gone to gain her independence and discovers that there are some things money can never buy.
Falling In defiantly got my interest and I was really happy that I was led on an emotional, intense complicated ride. There was a lot of interesting conflict between Scout and Lucien that kept me completely into their story.
I really liked getting to know Scout and her challenging life, she was really a strong woman and it was exciting to see Lucien who lived such a different lifestyle from Scout really shake up her world. As well as challenge her in such an emotional way. Lucien was a powerful, dominant, sexy man that had me excited to get to know him and what he had in store for Scout. What started as an arrangement that quickly morphed into blazing passionate relationship.
Even though there was a clear imbalance of power in the relationship I hands down loved how Scout didn’t let Lucien get away with anything and when she wasn’t feeling things she spoke her mind and was willing to walk away from him.
I really enjoy when a tough dominant man who thinks he can control everything and everyone around him gets blindsided and brought to his knees by the power of love, especially in the face of a woman he least expected to connect with and that is exactly what happen in this story and I loved it!
In the end I really enjoyed Falling In by Lydia Michaels with its daring drama, blazing passion and intriguing characters. Things left off on a cliffhanger and I’m very interested to see how Scout and Lucien’s story will ultimately play out.
