Sizzling – Opposites Attract Romance – Captivating Drama – Intense Connection – Intriguing Characters – Edgy & Dangerous – Intense Story
Very Wicked Things was an intense emotional story filled was crazy drama, interesting characters and sizzling romance. Dovey and Cuba had an intense and emotional history since getting together that ended on horrible terms, so it was really interesting to read how they would interact with each other. There was such tension between them as they dealt with heavy situations in their lives. I got Dovey and her determination to better her life even with all the messed up situations she had to deal with. Cuba acted like such a jerk to Dovey for so long it took a while for him to warm up to me and Dovey, but in the end he managed to win me over when his true feelings for Dovey came out and he backed up his words with actions.
Even though they were enemies throughout the story there was some serious sexual tension and major conflict as they both fought their feelings for each other that absolutely sizzled. With the opposite attract element I enjoyed learning about their differences in how they grew up and the issues they had to deal with. The drama was intense with Dovey dealing with her dangerous life and Cuba dealing with his sadden past. I really enjoyed the flashbacks to how Dovey and Cuba got together which ramped up the emotion and intensity of them dealing with their complicated relationship in the present. With the intense, engaging drama, interesting characters and sizzling romance Very Wicked Things by Ilsa Madden-Mills was a Yummy read.
