Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl.

Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

Literary's Views

Play was such a fun entertaining sexy story that I was really excited to read. This time around the focus was on the rock band Stage Dive’s drummer Mal who was known as the life of the party and he definitely lived up to the name. Then there was Anne who was a sensible, down to earth woman just trying to manage her life but when her kindness is taken advantage of she found herself on the verge of becoming homeless. Living in the same building with her neighbors, Lauren and Kate, friends with past tenant and girlfriend to David, lead guitarist of Stage Dive. Anne found herself partying with the famous band and catching the eye of Mal and things quickly got interesting from there.

The interactions with Mal and Anne was so exciting, sharp and witty. Though they lived two drastically differently life styles they came together creating an easy friendship the grew into much more the more time they spent together. I loved how Mal being his loud and rowdy funny self just worked himself into Anne’s life and lit it up. With the funny moments that had me laughing there were also some serious issues that Mal and Anne had to over come and there were hard and sad moments and they struggled but in the end it brought them closer.

When they came together it blazing hot and oh so passionate, just the way I like it. Overall Play by Kylie Scott was a yummy read that was really great and I really enjoyed!
