Eight years ago, Sophie gave her heart—and her virginity—to Zach Barrett on a night that couldn’t have been less romantic or more embarrassing. Zach’s step-brother, a steely-muscled, tattooed biker named Ruger, caught them in the act, getting a peep show of Sophie he’s never forgotten.

She may have lost her dignity that fateful night, but Sophie also gained something precious—her son Noah. Unfortunately, Zach’s a deadbeat dad, leaving Ruger to be Noah’s only male role model. When he discovers Sophie and his nephew living in near poverty, Ruger takes matters into his own hands—with the help of the Reapers Motorcycle Club—to give them a better life.

Living with outlaw bikers wasn’t Sophie’s plan for her son, but Ruger isn’t giving her a choice. He’ll be there for Noah, whether she wants him or not. But Sophie does want him, has always wanted him. Now she’ll learn that taking a biker to bed can get a girl dirty in every way…

Literary's Views

Reaper’s Legacy was a gritty in your face romance that dragged me into Ruger and Sophie’s complicated journey of finding love while dealing with their complicated lives. This was a drama filled book what with Sophie dealing with her unplanned pregnancy, dead beat boyfriend/father Zach, the responsibility of taking care of her child and the feelings she developed for Ruger. Now that was a lot to deal with and I did enjoyed reading how they navigated all that.

First off I do enjoy a dominant, determine man and Ruger defiantly feel into that category, to the point were he was a bit too dominant and overbearing. There was the strong clash of wills going on between Sophie and him as Sophie grew into the woman she was meant to be and figured out to live her life. While Ruger dealt with the growing feelings for her, fighting his true feelings and trusting to give her a hundred percent of himself.

While Sophie was a strong character and stood up for her views and what she wanted to do, I wanted her to really put her foot down and not let Ruger get away with half of the things he got away with. Though I could see he cared for Sophie and her son Noah because he was always there for them and he wanted the best for them, willing to do what needed to be done to keep them safe. Even with the clash of wills going on between them their chemistry and connection was strong and the romance that developed was sizzling. I really liked the danger and suspense element dealing with Ruger and his motorcycle club and the all of the side characters, members of the club and all of their issues.

Overall Reaper’s Legacy by Joanna Wylde was a story that I liked. While there were things that irked me a bit the story was an interesting read filled with drama that kept me interested in how Ruger and Sophie’s story would turn out.
