Their body art is hot. Their chemistry is even hotter.

From her dark hair sweeping below her waist to her soft, sexy curves, Tenley Page intrigues tattoo artist Hayden Stryker in a way no one else ever has…especially when she asks him to ink a gorgeous, intricate design on her back. Yet for all her beauty, there is something darkly tragic and damaged about Tenley that Hayden is everything.

Covered in ink and steel, Hayden is everything Tenley has never dared to want, awakening a desire to explore more than the art adorning his stunning body. Trapped by a past that leaves her screaming from nightmares, Tenley sees Hayden as the perfect escape. Although he has secrets too, if they both keep themselves guarded perhaps their intense physical connection will remain only that.

But nothing, not even passion, can keep them safe from their pasts…

Literary's Views

Clipped Wings was an emotional intense read about two damaged characters trying to find their way and ended up finding love. The sizzling deep consuming love that neither of them was expecting was what drew me into the story. I enjoyed and connected with their love of art and tattooing and the concept of Tenley’s desire to get a tattoo and Hayden ends up being her tattoo artist.

There was already an established connection between Tenley and Hayden since they both worked across the street from each other and Hayden started pursuing Tenley since the first time he saw her which was a while ago so their was major anticipation of when they would ultimately get together. I really liked how from the moment I met Hayden he had the determination and persistence in wanting to get to know Tenley. Even with the issues that Hayden was going through and the issues that Tenley had, he tried to better his life and knew he wanted to have a relationship with Tenley.

Now Tenley was going through a really trying time given the crazy situation that happened to her and trying to deal with the aftermath of it and figure out her future. So I liked her taking the chance with opening herself up to a relationship with Hayden and even though she’s quite and skittish at first once she begins to open up she does have a boldness to her that I liked to see.

Overall Clipped Wings by Helena Hunting turned out to be a yummy read that I enjoyed. Though things ended on a major cliffhanger which irked because I really wanted to know how things would end up, there was the emotional intensity that I was looking for. Tenley and Hayden were intense characters that drew my attention and kept it as they navigated their new sizzling hot romance. The drama was there and a bit suspenseful, having me curious at how they would ultimately come together and with the way things ended I’m interested to see how things will ultimately play out.
