Livy Kowalski has no time for idiots. When you shapeshift into a honey badger, getting through life’s irritants is a finely honed skill. Until she gets stuck housing her nutso cousin and dealing with her dad’s untimely and unexplained demise.
That’s where Vic Barinov comes in—or his house does. Vic can’t step outside without coming back to find Livy devouring his honey stash and getting the TV remote sticky. It gets his animal instincts all riled up. But he’ll have to woo her at high speed: all hell is breaking loose, and Livy is leading the charge…
Bite Me really wowed me with characters that I totally fell for, like every single one. It’s been a while since I’ve read a story were I’ve basically loved every character I was introduced to, especially the main characters Livy and Vic. This was my first read in the Pride series and it really packed a punch. From the beginning I was immediately immersed in the shifter world which was filled with action and suspense and this crazy ride of
vengeance.
Livy was a honey badger with a crazy family of crooks and thieves. The honey badgers were known for being these badass troublemakers in the shifter world and they defiantly were. Though Livy was seen as the softy of her family, in actuality she was just different from them. To everyone else she was defiantly a hard ass and dealing with the loss of her father and who was behind his death really had her going off. Livy was a bold in your face badass that even with the hardness had vulnerabilities that made her relatable and I ended up really liking her. I loved the dual personality traits of Vic, being the calm and logical grizzly bear and then this fierce aggressive tiger and I loved seeing those dual traits play out. As well as all how he dealt with his feelings for Livy and with the danger against the shifters.
Livy and Vic had a friends to lovers, opposites attract romance that was blazing. It was fun reading how they got each other and their differences. I really felt their friendship and their hot connection.
This story was filled with drama and suspense with whether Livy and Vic would work. I really wondered whether Livy would get her vengeance, if Vic would solve his case in getting the person poising a serious danger to the shifters. There wasn’t a dull moment, each character had something crazy going on and I loved it!
Overall Bite Me by Shelly Laurenston really turned out to be a delicious read for me. The characters with all of their crazy personalities really sold the story for me. It was also filled with intense unpredictable drama and blazing romance which I ended up loving and really look forward to reading more of this series.
