A biker. A tattoo artist. A love to last a lifetime.
Maddox Cross has always had to be tough. When his father went to jail for murder, the teenager took care of his sister and mother. Now on his own and working security at a night club, Maddox wants to become a tattoo artist-a dream that comes closer to reality when he falls for the hottest, most tatted woman he's ever seen. She's wild and beautiful, and Maddox will do anything to be with her.
Bee Malone came to town to open up her new tattoo parlor, Masquerade. Since being kidnapped as a young girl, Bee has had trouble getting close to anyone. But when she meets Maddox, she sees that under his hard biker's body is the sensitive soul of an artist. What starts out as a sizzling one-night stand soon becomes so much more.
Bee wants Maddox to join her tattoo business, but letting him into her life means revealing all her most intimate secrets. And as the past begins to intertwine with her present, Bee fears their love may not be as permanent as their ink . . .

Didn’t take long for me to go What? At the shocking and messed up history of Bee’s and Maddox’s life. My interest went up to hear more of their story.
Bee and Maddox wasted no time putting up their walls. They are both so harden by their past and very closed off which made me wonder about how they would ultimately connect. They both seemed very hard and set in their ways so the anticipation of when they would connect was high for me. Looks like a tough love story but how tough?
There was so much angst between the two of them it took a while for someone to open up, put it out there, be vulnerable. I know they are both hurting from their past (clearly understandable) but someone needed to give. There was a lot of opening up then pulling back between them when one of them realized they were slowly connecting with the other.
But when both Bee and Maddox started to really open up to each other and it was so emotional and sizzling. Experiencing them overlooking their reservations and realizing what they had made me sigh in happiness, finally!
Oh how Maddox and Bee’s blossoming relationship struggled but its through that struggle that made their relationship stronger and brought out their emotions. With a powerful ending Masquerade by Nyrae Dawn ended up being an enjoyable read.
