He makes the rules . . .
Mafiya enforcer Aleksandr "The Siberian" Sevastyan’s loyalty to his boss is unwavering, until he meets the boss’s long-lost daughter, a curvy, tantalizing redhead who haunts his mind and heats his blood like no other. Ordered to protect her, Sevastyan will do anything to possess her as well—on his own wicked terms.
Rules are made to be broken . . .
PhD student Natalie Porter had barely recovered from her first sight of the breathtakingly gorgeous Sevastyan before the professional hit man whisks her away to Russia, thrusting her into a world of extreme wealth and wanton pleasures. With every day she spends under his protection, she falls deeper under his masterful spell.
Are you ready to play?
Yet all is not as it seems. To remove Natalie from an enemy’s reach, Sevastyan spirits her into hiding. From an opulent palace in Russia to the decadent playgrounds of the mega-wealthy in Paris, the two lovers will discover that even their darkest—and most forbidden—fantasies can come true…
Since this is a short story things developed at a rapid pace though it wasn’t to rapid to the point where I was totally confused. Filled with building romantic passion, danger and adventure but in the end way to short for me. It felt like an enticing sample.
Even with the shortened story the intimacy between Natalie and Sevastyan was blazing hot. Even though this is the early stages of their relationship and they still have a lot to learn about each other, when they connected they burnt up the pages with their passion.
There was much underlining danger with Natalie’s father and Sevastyan’s profession dealing with the Russian gangs. I get Natalie’s desire to connect with her biological family but connecting with her real family inadvertently tied Natalie to a danger that she never expected.
I’m kind of conflicted with this one. On one hand the story did capture me and I was totally feeling it but on the other it was so short and I wanted so much more. I love Kresley Cole’s stories and this seems like will be just as great, when I get more of it!
One of the big issue I had with the story was the huge cliffhanger ending. I mean I was really getting into the story and it just ended abruptly. I was like What? I know this is the start to a series but the ending could have been better.
The Professional by Kresley Cole was a hot romance filled with so much potential to be great. So far the story has a hot romance filled with drama, conflict, danger and what looked to be an enticing adventure for Natalie that looks like it will get even more complicated.
