Wren Caswell is average. Ranked in the middle of her class at Sacred Heart, she's not popular, not a social misfit. Wren is the quiet good girl who's always done what she's supposed to—only now, in her junior year, this passive strategy is backfiring. She wants to change but doesn't know how.

Grayson Barrett was the king of St. Gabe's: star of the lacrosse team, at the top of his class, and on the fast track to a brilliant future—until he was expelled for being a "term-paper pimp." Now Gray is in a downward spiral and needs to change but doesn't know how.

One fateful night, their paths cross at Wren's family's Arthurian-themed catering hall. What follows is the complicated, awkward, hilarious, and tender tale of two teens shedding their pasts, figuring out who they are—and falling in love.

Literary's Views

Things started on a slow and even place and the drama didn’t really start as soon as I wanted it to but it did start as soon as when Wren and Grayson met which I have to say was very eventful.

Taken through Wren’s day to day life I was able to get to know her a bit. I liked that Wren was a normal quite girl trying to make sense of her life and her future which totally made sense. I liked that even though she was quite she wasn’t a dormouse, she had a voice and opinions and stated them when she needed to.

Although the person that ultimately captured my attention was Grayson and the issues he brought to the table. Being seen as the trouble maker with a past I was curious to find out about those secrets he kept and how he was going to stop it from interfering with his future.

The romance between Wren and Grayson was a sweet opposites attract type of relationship with some spicy moments where they let their passion out but nothing to explicit. I really love a guy who know and acknowledge his feelings and is willing to follow those feelings and Grayson totally recognized something that he liked within Wren and went after it and Wren despite Grayson’s past was willing to take a chance at what they could have.

There was some mystery and conflict which was brought on by Grayson’s past and friend Josh who oozed trouble and conspiracy and with Wren figuring out her life, which were legitimate concerns that brought the tension and questions to the story but it didn’t completely capture me like I wanted it to.

Overall The Promise of Amazing by Robin Constantine was a nice tasty read. Grayson and Wren had a sweet romance with hot moments that I enjoyed. To me the story showcased elements of shedding the past and making a better future as well as standing up for what you want in life and acknowledging who you really want to be
