"Never Ross wants to be loved.
It's that simple, but it's not that easy."Never is a girl with a broken soul who doesn't date nice guys and can't seem to go to bed at night without crying herself to sleep. She doesn't need any complications in her life, especially not when they're attached to a man that could be her emotional twin.
Ty McCabe can't stand Never the first time he meets her. He's aware that the feeling's mutual and the two don't think they'll ever see each other again, but when fate takes a hand and puts them both in the wrong place at the wrong time, Ty and Never form a tentative friendship that opens the door on their dark sides and shows them what it's like to live in the light.
"Sometimes, the only way to go forward, is to take a few, careful steps back."
Never (awesome name by the way) and Ty’s story was a very intense story packed full with edge, angst and a sizzling romance that was more about finding connection and friendship that ultimately lead to more than just a quick and simple hook up. Though Never and Ty’s journey was a dark and gritty one it felt real and compelling. These characters had to deal with some pretty serious issues that made the story that much more deep and intriguing, problems within themselves and drama that came with family. Never and Ty are flawed characters but I really liked how they were not delusional about it, they were up front and understood who they were and the problems they faced and did what they had to do.
In the end I was defiantly intrigued and wanted to see how it would turn out. How they would get their lives in order and how the romance would blossom. Since this is the first book in the series I look forward to reading how Ty and Never will resolve all of their problems. Those looking for an intensely dark romantic read filled with drama and angst should give Tasting Never by C. M. Stunich a try.
