A thrilling, high-concept fantasy for fans of Garth Nix and Nancy Farmer.

Incarceron is a prison so vast that it contains not only cells, but also metal forests, dilapidated cities, and vast wilderness. Finn, a seventeen-year-old prisoner, has no memory of his childhood and is sure that he came from Outside Incarceron. Very few prisoners believe that there is an Outside, however, which makes escape seems impossible.

And then Finn finds a crystal key that allows him to communicate with a girl named Claudia. She claims to live Outside- she is the daughter of the Warden of Incarceron, and doomed to an arranged marriage. Finn is determined to escape the prison, and Claudia believes she can help him. But they don't realize that there is more to Incarceron than meets the eye. Escape will take their greatest courage and cost more than they know.

Blood Promise

Author: Rachelle Mead
Published:  Razorbill (April 6, 2010)
Genre: Young Adult

First Impressions
Love the cover!! It has all the drama and mystery that makes me want to open the book and start reading.

Synopsis
The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them . . . including Dimitri.
He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

Review

With this newest installment to the Vampires Academy series I had some high expectations. I was gratefully happy that it was met after reading this book.  The story had it all, engaging three dimensional characters, detailed scenery and plot. I don't want to get into too much detail because I fear it would totally ruin the story for those few who haven't read this amazing series. And to all of you I say go out and start this series you will not be disappointed!!!! It's filled with so much action, so much drama while the main character Rose and her friends are so down to earth and believable despite all the supernatural elements.  I feel in this installment there was a lot of growth within Rose in finding out who she was against all of the odd stacked against her.  There was so much drama with love and the ultimate price one pays in the face of doing what's in ones heart and whets right.  Majority of the time those things are not the same. I felt that Rose made the right choice in the end though it was a very hard one. All in All this story had everything romance, intrigue, drama leaving me wanting the next book to hurry up and come out!!! I strongly recommend this series!!!

Atlantis Redeemed

Author: Alyssa Day
Published:  Berkley (March 2, 2010)
Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance

First Impressions
Loved the colors and the sexy male. It makes me feel like I'm under water and I totally get that is will be a sexy romance.

Synopsis
The fate of Atlantis is on the line-and the future of the world is at stake...

Poseidon's warriors have learned that the battle to protect humanity produces unexpected enemies-and alliances. But none more unexpected than the bond between a cursed Atlantean warrior and a woman whose sight surpasses any lie.

Review

In this 5th installment of the Warriors of Poseidon series we're focused on Brennan and how he falls in love with Tiernan the reporter introduced in the passed book.  I was excited to read about Brennan's story since he was cursed over two thousand years ago by Poseidon, losing all of his emotions until he set eyes on his one true mate. It was very interesting to see how he would handle all the emotions that came back to him when he came in contact with Tiernan.  I loved the added intrigue with Tiernan's special powers and how it added to the progression of the plot.  The plot in itself had me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next and how Tiernan and Brennan was going to stop the crazed scientists in league with the vampires to enslave the world. Besides the great plot the underlining theme was about redemption and how far one would go to be with the one they loved? Would you stay with the person knowing that every time they were out of your sight they would forget you even existed? The story was filled with action and drama  and with such a great set up in the plot I felt that resolution between Brennan and Tiernan as achieved a bit too quickly.  I know that this is a romance and all will end well but I felt that the romance could have been pushed a bit more.  All in all this was a great story will all the elements going for it action, romance, danger. This book is defiantly one of the best in the series and I look forward to reading what will happen to Atlantis and the warriors that protect it!!

"He froze in place, then tilted his head to one side, pinning her with a long, considering stare. "Not his prey," he finally said, his deep voice sizzling across her nerve endings.
She caught her breath, but before she could speak he lifted one hand from the wall to touch the side of her face.
"Not his prey," he repeated, bending his face down to hers. "Mine"

Back In Black

Author: Lori Foster
Published:  Berkley (February 2, 2010)
Genre: Contemporary Romance

First Impressions
Hot that’s all I have to say!!!!

Synopsis
Gillian is a PR expert hired to smooth out the rough edges on hot- headed sports club president Drew Black. He's rough, raw and ready for any challenge Gillian throws his way. But which one's going to end up on top?
Review
Lori Foster is one of the best romance authors out there and with this new novel she brings a light entertaining romance.  This could be read as a stand alone or as a SBC fighters series.  The story tells about Drew Black the face and founder of the SBC and how he falls in love with his PR advisor Gillian Noode who is hired against his will to clean up his act.  There both very strong characters and it's very entertaining to read how they fall for each other.  There's another mini romance in the story between an up and coming fighter named Brett Bullman and an advocate against sports with violence named Audrey, while their romance is totally different form Drew and Gillian it adds a nice balance.  While Drew and Gillian's romance is fast hot and heavy.  Brett and Audrey's relationship is soft and patient, both have qualities that I love and showcase how everybody loves differently and the obstacles they go through to keep that love.  The story had it's fair share of action and danger bringing intrigue and spice.  I liked the story and will continue to read Fosters books.

Twice As Hot

Author: Gena Showalter
Published:  Harlequin Books  (January 26, 2010)
Genre: Paranormal Romance

First Impressions
The cover is as thrilling and electric just like the book. It makes you totally want to know what this story is all about.

Synopsis
Belle Jamison is finally starting to feel like a normal girl again. Her job as a paranormal investigator is going well, she's learned to control her supernatural abilities (mostly) and she's just gotten engaged to Rome Masters, the ultra-sexy operative who once tried to neutralize her!But planning a wedding is never easy, especially when the bride keeps accidentally torching her dress, the groom returns from a dangerous mission with selective memory loss and the man responsible now wants Belle for himself. With Rome's ex determined to win him back and a new band of supervillains on the horizon, it will take all Belle's powers—plus a little help from her trusty empath sidekick—to save the day, salvage the wedding and prove that true love really does conquer all.

Review
What would you do if your fiancé, who you were planning to marry in just a couple of weeks, went off to a secret mission only to come back with all his memory of you erased?  Not only that his ex-wife wants to get him back so she poisoned him against you making him think that they were working on their marriage.  Oh and while all of that’s happening you had to fight this crazy super villain set out to destroy you and create world destruction. Yea, that’s what Belle Jamison had to go through and more in this second book Twice as Hot.  This book was a great read leaving me totally satisfied and wanting more (if that’s possible).  I was on a crazy ride from beginning to end with all the things happening in this book.  Being emotionally connected to Belle and Rome's relationship, wondering and hoping that Rome got his memory back. Showalter is an amazing writer and she delivered with this story. I loveed all the characters and how real she made them.  The plot was wild and engaging and the romance scenes were Hot.  Belle's voice is really strong and I liked how she grew as a person and an agent through out all the mess that was being thrown at her.  Of course I can't forget about all the hot guys in this story that just made it sizzle (keep them coming Gena!!!).  All around this book has everything romance, action, suspense and humor. Its one you defiantly want to read.

Fade

Author: Lisa McMann
Published:  Simon Pulse (January 5, 2010)
Genre: Young Adult

First Impressions
Love the cover, simple and mysterious like the book

Synopsis
For Janie and Cabel, real life is getting tougher than the dreams. They're just trying to carve out a little (secret) time together, but no such luck. Disturbing things are happening at Fieldridge High, yet nobody's talking. When Janie taps into a classmate's violent nightmares, the case finally breaks open--but nothing goes as planned. Not even close. Janie's in way over her head, and Cabe's shocking behavior has grave consequences for them both.
Worse yet, Janie learns the truth about herself and her ability. And it's bleak. Seriously, brutally bleak. Not only is her fate as a Dream Catcher sealed, but what's to come is way darker than she'd even feared...

Review
This was a great story.  It had me from beginning to end.  This story is the second book of the series and the plot keeps getting better and better. In this story we meet up with Janie who's a dream catcher (someone who can enter people's dreams) working on a new assignment for the police.  The characters are very engaging and real and there are no dull moments in the book. The romance between Jamie and Cabe sizzles the pages adding a new element to the story. This serious case that Janie and Cabe is working on has Janie nose deep in danger, filling the book with suspense and intrigue which had me quickly flipping the pages to find out if Janie would crack the case.  I was totally happy with the way the book ended, happy that the perpetrators got what they deserved. The way McMann writes is not the traditional was  but it works.  Reading this story I really enjoyed the ride McMann took me on with the serious themes and the light hearted romance and comedy. I will defiantly pick up the next book in the series to see what wild ride Janie and Cabe goes on next.

Review

Kresley Cole has done it again!! I'm totally in love with her Immortals After Dark Series!!! The suspense, the adventure, the romance...wow the romance!  This story is a total pager turner, from start to finish. The characters are interesting and so believable and the plot and details made me feel like I was there going through everything. The pace was spot on, not too fast for me not to know what was going on but not too slow for me to get bored.  We are introduced to Lucia the Archer who's on a quest to destroy a god when she meets Garreth, the werewolf who knew the instant he saw her that she was his mate, forever.
So begins the hunt to claim her as his own.  There was so much spark between these two characters I was surprised the pages (and me) didn't catch fire!! I love how their both strong independent characters and they can still come together and make an awesome team.  I love all the trials Lucia and Garret had to go through to be together, it made the story more believable.  Though they struggled a lot to be together when they were they burned up the pages...Hot!! I loved how Cole woven an amazing adventure into the story as well, giving it so much depth and intrigue and bringing past characters into the story.  All in all Kresely Cole is a wonderful writer and I totally recommend picking up all of her books because you will not be disappointed!!!!

First Impressions
Love the colors used and the mysterious quality it portrays

*Amazon

Review

The story is the second installment in Stolarz's touch series and it was a nice, interesting read.  We're introduced to Camelia again trying to live life after the horrific incident that happened to her a few months back (read Deadly Little Secrets) and the fact that Ben left.  Soon things start to turn interesting while Camelia works on her pottery and starts to hear voices and sees things.   Then Ben comes back into her life and the tension begins with them fighting their feelings for each other.  To complicate matters more there's a new guy in town named Adam and he sets his eyes on Camelia, adding a nice little love triangle.  The suspense from the first novel is clearly brough to this installment when Camelia start to receive photos and messages again letting her know she's in danger (again) and for her to be careful or she'll end up dead.  Only now it's from someone new.
I enjoyed this story and all of the characters, new and old. I loved the tension Stolarz built between Camelia, Ben and Adam.  Even though this plot was similar to the fist book with Camelia trying to figure out who's out to hurt her, there are other elements added on, which gave it a fresh new feel.  The diary entrees between the chapters was a great addition, adding to the intrigue. What I was a little disappointed with was Stolarz didn't really go into Ben's powers or Ben himself, he still remained a total mystery but hopefully Stolarz will get more into Ben and Camelia's powers with the third installment.
